Storm Shelter Project
This
is a 10'X20' storm shelter. The shelter is being built as part of
a larger shop building. The concrete floor of the shop will be the
roof of the shelter after all the necessary back filling and grading is
completed. |

Pumping
concrete into the wall with a very manual pump. This method worked
great. Actually spilling less concrete than I (Greg) did on our basement
using a boom truck. This method will work in cases where the walls are
almost completely below grade. |
| The
ground was very soft due to rain the previous night. Fearing that
this might lead to the concrete truck getting stuck if we made two passes
for two concrete lifts (two pours of about 4' each), we made this pour
in one pass, over 7' in height with NO BLOW-OUTS! |

This
is the best way to pour walls if working off of a smooth floor. The
rolling scaffold is much easier than building scaffolding into the bracing,
saving time and material. |
