POLYSTEEL PANELDECK introduces a new way to build roofs and floors that combines the strength, security, and structural integrity of concrete with the energy efficiency, design flexibility, and comfort of insulating concrete forms.  The expanded polystyrene panels are supported and reinforced with an integral steel beam molded into the product from end to end every 12 inches on center.  The result is a self-supporting joist and deck forming system that provides the maximum strength of a reinforced concrete deck with the minimum of materials and labor.

This super strong, super insulated roof and floor system from American Polysteel perfectly completes the thermal and structural envelope of your Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) project by providing:

  • Protection from severe weather, fire and earthquakes
  • Peace and quiet from inside to outside and upstairs to downstairs
  • Superior energy efficiency

  • POLYSTEEL PANELDECK offers:

  • Clear spans up to 40 feet
  • Minimum R value of R 30 (calculated for 7” EPS depth)
  • Utility passages molded in by design
  • Steel attachment members for drywall
  • Increased jobsite safety
  • Reduced labor and shoring requirements
  • An ideal solution for insulated tilt up walls
  • Horizontal to vertical slopes

  • POLYSTEEL - now the best building material you can use for the exterior walls, floors, and roof of your next residential or commercial project.

    RESIDENTIAL

The perfect compliment for a home constructed with Polysteel walls, PANELDECK provides the critical link necessary to complete the thermal and structural "envelope" of  your home.  With pre-molded access channels, utilities are easy to install and drywall can be readily attached to the integrated steel furring strips.

ROOF:  A PANELDECK roof provides you and your family with the ultimate in protection from fire, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other natural disasters that so often threaten life and property.  Sloped or gabled roof designs can readily be accommodated for almost any interior configuration or exterior aesthetic effect

FLOOR:  Second, third, and fourth story floors can efficiently incorporate radiant floor heating systems with PANELDECK.  The perfect diaphragm for floors above the basement, PANELDECK provides the strength necessary to support the forces of backfilled earth, wind, and seismic loads at any level.  PANELDECK can also be used for elevated garage floors.

SAFE ROOM: As a roof for a Polysteel Safe Room, a master closet can become a safe haven for your family during a tornado or hurricane.  This same internal structure can also be used to securely protect
    your valuables and family heirlooms.

POLYSTEEL PANELDECK helps make your home the quietest, most comfortable, and secure, environment you can provide your family.

    COMMERCIAL

PANELDECK adds a new dimension to the energy efficiency of commercial structures, while providing the strength, protection and design flexibility so often required in these types of buildings.

ROOFS:  Where maximum clear spans are required, PANELDECK can be used in conjunction with a variety of engineered truss systems to help create the unencumbered open spaces needed in warehouses, theaters, gymnasiums, and other multipurpose buildings.  Sloped or flat, a PANELDECK roof can easily be sealed and waterproofed with a variety of readily available materials to create the most durable roof imaginable.

FLOORS: Separating the noises from one story to another is a common requirement for offices, hotels, apartments, condominiums, and other high-density structures.  PANELDECK provides a virtually soundproof barrier between floors, in addition to the fire protection offered by a solid concrete slab.

WALLS:  The combination of high-density expanded polystyrene insulation with an integral steel insert and attachment point makes PANELDECK the perfect forming material for creating insulated tilt-up concrete walls.  The exterior can be finished with any traditional concrete-covering material available, while the interior can be covered and finished with drywall, creating an energy-efficient, user-friendly wall system that effectively competes with other finished tilt-up systems.

In all applications, utilities are easy to install in the pre-molded access passages, and any type of finish can be mechanically attached to the integrated steel inserts. With the high cost of energy and an increasing demand for improving the workplace environment, POLYSTEEL PANELDECK offers a unique and cost-effective solution to all of your commercial and industrial needs.

SHORING & BRACING: Installer is responsible for the design and correct installation of Shoring of PanelDeck® forms in accordance with ACI (American Concrete Institute) 347R-94 “Guide to Framework for Concrete” Chapter 2, Design.  Any variance from these standards must he provided and certified n advance by a Structural Engineer licensed for the job-site location and specifications.

REINFORCED CONCRETE: Installer is responsible far placement of all reinforcing steel in accordance with ACI (American Concrete Institute)  318-95 “Building Codes Requirements for Reinforced Concrete”.  Any variance from these standards must he provided and certified in advance by a Structural Engineer licensed for the job-site location and specifications. COMMERCIAL

PANELDECK is a proven insulating concrete forming system for roofs, floors, and walls that combines the strength, fire resistance, and dimensional stability of steel, with the insulating properties of  high-density expanded polystyrene to create a structural panel of exceptional performance. COMMERCIAL

Each panel is 24 inches wide and can be ordered in any length (no extra charge) or thickness desired.  The 22-gauge (8mm) integrated steel beams run parallel at 12 inches on center to provide the panel with self-supporting strength and a continuous mechanical attachment point for drywall or any other type of covering.

The panels interlock with a user-friendly tongue and groove design at the base of a 5 inch wide cavity that forms the concrete beam, or joist which creates the structural support member of the entire system.  Rebar is placed in each joist, as required, and shoring is spaced every 6 to 8 feet as required by an engineered design.  The thickness of the PANELDECK material and/or the concrete slab poured on top of the panel determines the height of the concrete joist and the unsupported span of the deck PANELDECK is available in a variety of thicknesses from 7 to 12-1/2 inches.

The utility passages are 4.75 inches in diameter and allow for the placement of plumbing, electrical, telephone, and ventilation systems within the panel without having to remove any of the forming material or impair the integrity of the system.

American Polysteel has developed a basic engineering design table, shoring guidelines, and multiple-span estimating tables that represent the most comprehensive technical support available.
